Vinicius Jr Extends Regret to Real Madrid Devotees
The attacker has scored five strikes in ten Spanish league outings this season.
Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to supporters for his reaction when replaced in Sunday's fiery El Clasico victory.
Vinicius was taken off in the 72nd min and expressed his disappointment by heading directly to the dressing room.
He later returned to the dugout and, after his club's 2-1 win, attempted to approach the opposition's youngster Yamal during contentious post-match exchanges.
"Now I want to express regret to all the Madridistas for my behavior when I was taken off in the derby," he posted on social media.
"Just as I have said in person during the latest training, I wish to apologise again to my colleagues, the club, and the president.
"At times emotion gets the better of me because I continuously aim to triumph and assist my club. My competitive character stems from the passion I have for this team and everything it represents."
The player signed for Madrid from Brazil in the year 2018 for millions and has scored 111 goals in 335 appearances.
But his career in the La Liga is far from certain with rumors in the past few months suggesting that the club would contemplate permitting the young star leave if they were to receive a good proposal.
When the winger was taken off on the match day, cameras from broadcaster Dazn captured him saying: "Always me! I'm departing the side! It's wiser if I leave, I'm moving on."
In his latest statement on the platform, he stated: "I vow to keep fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have done since the initial arrival."
