Analysis of the 1.15pm Race

The prestigious juvenile colts race pits leading French two-year-olds facing a strong contender from Aidan O’Brien. Undefeated Rayif along with Nighttime face the Irish-trained Puerto Rico from Ballydoyle. Rayif won the Prix Francois Boutin during his most recent outing, and Christopher Head’s charge, holding a 3-from-4, is also a Group Three victor, having taken the Prix La Rochette at this course and distance during September. Puerto Rico proved racing more frequently than his rivals , broke his maiden recently during his latest appearance, in the Doncaster’s Group Two. Although an outsider for an O’Brien entrant and among the favourites failed to show, he stands as a solid second-favourite according to the bookmakers. A Bit Of Spirit, who took a Group Three following a close result, is also warrants his place in the lineup, along with the Appleby-trained Appleby’s Time To Turn, a Listed winner on the Ascot track back in July.
