Melania Trump's Digital Currency Creators Hit with Market Manipulation Scam Legal Action

The architects behind a digital token introduced by First Lady of the United States Melania Trump are now charged in federal papers of orchestrating a fraudulent operation.

Initial Launch and Value Spike

The $MELANIA coins were made available for just a few cents each on January 19th, one day preceding Donald Trump took office.

In addition to the First Lady's token, Trump himself launched his personal token a few hours before the swearing-in event.

In a matter of hours, the market value of the $MELANIA token skyrocketed to nearly $14 per unit.

Rapid Decline in Price

Yet, the price then collapsed almost as quickly, and is now less than 15 cents – below a fraction of its highest value.

At the same time, the $TRUMP token hit a high of over forty-five dollars and presently sells for $5.79.

Legal Allegations and Investors' Arguments

The investors assert that the token's architects organized the scheme conscious that the digital currency's value would plummet.

Mrs. Trump personally is not named in the court case. The plaintiffs stated they do not think she was responsible, but charged the crypto companies of exploiting her and other familiar faces as a facade for their criminal operations.

Trading Venue Role

As per fresh legal documents, plaintiffs accuse executives of the Meteora cryptocurrency exchange, where the First Lady's token was initially traded, of establishing a scheme that allowed them to secretly buy substantial volumes of the cryptocurrency.

Their partners then rapidly offloaded these virtual tokens, pocketing substantial profits while causing the price to plummet, according to records entered in federal court in Manhattan.

Wider Proceedings

The claims concerning the First Lady's coin have been included in legal proceedings involving multiple additional digital currencies, which started in April.

Trump-associated entities has according to reports earned more than $1 billion in pre-tax profits from several blockchain-associated products and companies over the previous twelve months.
