Discover 29 Latest Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Featuring a Commander Precon Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-loving heroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, announced a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a special event hosted at NYCC. Is this a radical new set or yet another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.

Take a look here at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with key background. All items listed below releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before diving into all the various unique products and bundles available, let’s take a look at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a couple of shell-shocking features. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where players can play big creatures into the game field whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells too. Wizards also took the opportunity to refine the ability a little (Sneak counts as casting, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu is staying, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in future sets from now on.

“If we ever go back to the Kamigawa plane, we might use Ninjutsu since that plane is it originated and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer stated. “However on other planes, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely that we'd use the updated version.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with unique artwork created exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards outside of your deck, so was I. Yet as per the developers, it’s now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per the company’s existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they were careful to make sure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” the designer says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to create any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your commander depending on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone rather than just one). Check them out for yourself:

The Turtle Power deck is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise based on popularity. Wizards told that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which means an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck includes 37 lands.)

How will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

Typically, the company is selling a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 15 Foil land cards
  • Fifteen Non-foil basic lands
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Foil promotional card
  • One Large life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card with all-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. There are six different pizza promos available.

The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is made for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (ideal for a group of four to play draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (aka, the prize for winning)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (for building your draft deck)
  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • 1 drafting guide (a one-sheet guide to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to develop Magic game products aimed at new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The concept is that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creature cards included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
